Amakura & murakoze. Working for a UN subsidiary and splitting time between Gisenyi and Kigali, we built a number of houses and helped students prepare for their national exams. After the mass closure of across the country by Kagame, myself and several other volunteers kick started a non-profit Turi Kumwe to purchase the community center next to Gisimba orphanage in Kigali. Students now have a community space to express their artistic interests, study, play sports, and record music.
